Several members of the UK Cohousing Network attended the first International Conference on Cohousing in Seattle followed by the 2009 US Cohousing Association Conference.
It was inspiring and amazingly useful as so many of the issues facing both groups living in established cohousing groups and groups trying to set up, are very similar to the ones we deal with in the UK.
Attached is the the Project Brief for Lifetime Community Project. After a good deal of thought, we have come up with a list of aims and objectives.

Lancaster Group Plans to Create a Gold Standard Eco-Cohousing Community
Lancaster Cohousing has just bought a riverside plot on which they plan to create a green cohousing development. It is hoped it will act as a catalyst and inspiration for significant improvements in the environmental impact of new housing developments.
More members, especially those with capital, are needed to make this community happen. Our timescale to realise this project is about a year from now (autumn 2010).
