Prospect Permaculture Community
We are a group of like minded people who are setting up an intentional community based on permaculture principles.
The community will be essentially land based with the aim of producing most of our own food and energy. We will earn our income from a wide variety of activities – as many as possible will take place on-site.
Accommodation will be based on co-housing with dwellings that are largely self contained but sharing many facilities.
We are looking to buy a property, a large house or farmhouse with land, which will be rural but near a village or small town. It will probably be in the west country – Dorset, Somerset, or Devon.
We are seeking new members especially those with capital and/or skills such as land based and building. Regular meetings will begin in March.

Our vision is of a caring society in which people cooperate with each other and with nature to create a sustainable world, recognising that all are interconnected.
Prospect intends to establish a thriving eco co-housing community based on permaculture principles as an example of truly sustainable rural development.

* Our land will be cared for to enhance biodiversity as well as increase sustainable yields.
Prospect Co-housing (Devon) progress

We have been meeting roughly once a month since June this year. Prospect Co-housing now has nine adults and three children keenly involved in developing the community. In addition, we have five other adults, with two more children, who may well join us. We still need more members.
Invitation to join Prospect: a new, small-scale cohousing project in Devon
More members, especially those with capital, and skills such as land based and building are needed to make this community happen. Our timescale to realise this project is about a year from now winter 2011).
