Bridport Cohousing Community
Plans to create a cohousing community of around 30 homes in Bridport are at a promising exploratory stage.
Ecos Homes, a leading local eco-developer, and Synergy Housing Group, the largest housing association in Dorset, have both agreed to work as partners with the Residents’ Group.
Positive initial meetings have been held with West Dorset District Council who have indicated support in principle for the plan, and a feasibility study by Ecos is due to start in June. It is hoped to find an edge of town site with the Bridport Centre for Local Food, with enough land for a community market garden.
